Row & Sons: Leading Manufacturer of Professional Food Cutting Surfaces

An independent, family-run business founded well over 100 years ago, Row & Sons was originally established as a manufacturer of butchers' blocks to be locally supplied to the south of England's meat industry. Now a member of the extensive Partwell Group, the company has grown and developed into a mainstream supplier of an extensive range of products to the entire catering industry.

Our History

It was in Devon back in the year 1880 when Joshua Row founded Row & Sons, quickly establishing the business as a reliable manufacturer and supplier of butchers' blocks and other hardwood cutting surfaces. Substantial growth of the business led to the Row family relocating to London at the turn of the 20th century, with the firm becoming incorporated in 1932.

In 1967, the business once again relocated, this time to Witham in Essex. After almost four decades in this location, Row & Sons moved once more; this time the move brought the company to a modern facility in nearby Manningtree, where it remains to this day.

Row & Sons Today

The constant reinvestment in the business has allowed us to build on our heritage, knowledge and experience. Today, Row & Sons is recognised as the UK's leading manufacturer of professional food cutting surfaces, supplying everything from chopping boards and racks to food presentation items and our original signature product: butcher's blocks.

Our craftsmen today use both wood and plastic to create the many products in our portfolio. The key values of innovation and creativity that led to the establishment of our company all those years ago (as well as the original introduction of the colour-coding system still used in the UK) are still strongly adhered to and we specialise in working closely with our clients to create bespoke items.

We invite you to browse the extensive Row & Sons product catalogue, which can be found on our modern, responsive and adaptive website. You are also invited to subscribe to our regular, feature-packed newsletter to receive product updates, industry news, special offers and much more.
