Plastic Parts Material Application Guide

Plastic Sheet Polyurethane Partwell

Partwell stock a vast range of sheet plastic materials to accommodate a diverse range of markets.  All grades are available as plastic sheet material or bespoke CNC engineered plastic parts.

PVC Plastic – Ducting, pipe work, outdoor applications. PVC plastic is fire retardant, offers good resistance to acids, alkalis and UV.

PMMA Acrylic (Cast) – Lenses, covers that require optical clarity, signs and exhibition work.

ABS Acrylonitrile Budadiene Styrene – Pipes for pressure systems, pumps and valves.

UHMWPE Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene – Conveyor wearparts, food chopping boards, food industry machine guards and parts. UHMWPE offers fantastic abrasion resistance couples with a low coefficient of friction. Expands with warmer temperatures.

Nylon 6 Extruded – Bushes, gears, bearing guides and other low friction applications. Offers good impact resistance.

HDPE High Density Polyethylene – pipe fittings for low temperature work, good chemical resistance.

POM Extruded – Cogs and gears, high tolerance components. Plastic parts that require dimensional stability, low coefficient of friction and electrical resistance.

PP Polypropylene  – Pumps, valves, chemical handling equipment, hygienic applications, wall cladding. Excellent chemical resistance.

PC Polycarbonate – Machine guards, safety windows, conservatory roofing, electrical connectors and applications.

PET[P] Thermoplastic polyester – Food processing equipment plastic parts. Fully food approved, dimensionally stable, suitable for high tolerance machining, good for higher temperatures but does not like water.

PVDF Polyvinylidene Fluride Homopolymer and Copolymer – Acid tanks, chemical processing. Excellent corrosive chemical and abrasion resistance.

PEI Polyetherimide – Electronic insulators. Medical components high heat and flame resistance. High strength and rigidity at high temperatures.

PTFE Polytetrafluoroethylene – Seals, washers and electronic insulation. Vast temperature range and chemical inertness. Non-stick material.

PEEK Polyetherethereketone – Aerospace and nuclear bushes and seals. PEEK can withstand a higher range of temperatures within the plastic range. Very good mechanical, electrical, chemical and thermal properties.

All plastic grades are available to purchase as sheets or we can engineer plastic parts to bespoke customer needs.
